Possible side effects

When initiating treatment with Zegluxen^®, you may in some cases experience loss of fluids/dehydration, e.g. in case of vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea. It is important to avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids. Contact your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.¹

• Severe allergic reaction

See your doctor straight away if you get symptoms such as breathing problems, swelling of face and throat and a fast heartbeat¹

• Inflamed pancreas

See your doctor straight away if you experience severe, persistent stomach pain, which might reach through to your back, as well as sickness and vomiting¹

You may experience feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting), diarrhoea, constipation, headache. These usually go away after a few days or weeks¹

• Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)

The warning signs of low blood sugar may come on suddenly and can include: cold sweat, cool pale skin, headache, fast heartbeat, feeling sick, feeling very hungry, changes in vision, feeling sleepy, feeling weak, nervous, anxious, confused, difficulty concentrating, shaking (tremor).¹ Your doctor will tell you how to treat low blood sugar and what to do if you notice these warning signs. This is more likely to happen if you also take a sulfonylurea or insulin.¹ Your doctor may reduce your dose of these medicines before you start using Zegluxen^®1

• Injection site reactions

Injection site reactions can happen when using Zegluxen^®, and they may include symptoms like bruising, pain, irritation, itching and rashes at the site of the injection. If you experience severe reactions or if symptoms persist, speak with your doctor for guidance and management of these reactions.¹

• Nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting

If you’re taking Zegluxen^®, you might experience nausea and/or vomiting. While this feeling can be uncomfortable, it usually goes away over time. If nausea persists, speak with your doctor for advice on managing your symptoms.¹

• Diarrhoea

If you’re taking Zegluxen^®, you may experience diarrhoea. It’s important to stay hydrated and monitor your condition. Diarrhoea will usually go away over time but if it persists or becomes severe, consult your doctor for guidance.¹

You may experience a delay in stomach emptying, known as gastroparesis, when taking Zegluxen^®. If you notice symptoms of abdominal pain, bloating, and a feeling of fullness after eating only a small amount of food, make sure to discuss this with your doctor.¹
