Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Nevolat® can produce side-effects although not everybody gets them. Please refer to the package leaflet for full information.1

Always follow your doctors instructions

Always follow your doctors instructions and report any side effects you experience. Your healthcare team is there to help you manage any issues and ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible.

Avoid dehydration

When initiating treatment with Nevolat®, you may in some cases experience loss of fluids/dehydration, e.g. in case of vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea. It is important to avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids. Contact your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.1

Serious, but rare, side effects

  • Severe allergic reaction

See your doctor straight away if you get symptoms such as breathing problems, swelling of face and throat and a fast heartbeat

  • Inflamed pancreas

See your doctor straight away if you experience severe, persistent stomach pain, which might reach through to your back, as well as sickness and vomiting

Very common side effects

Feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting), diarrhoea, constipation, headache. These usually go away after a few days or weeks.1

Common side effects

  • Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)1

The warning signs of low blood sugar may come on suddenly and can include: cold sweat, cool pale skin, headache, fast heartbeat, feeling sick, feeling very hungry, changes in vision, feeling sleepy, feeling weak, nervous, anxious, confused, difficulty concentrating, shaking (tremor).1 Your doctor will tell you how to treat low blood sugar and what to do if you notice these warning signs. This is more likely to happen if you also take a sulfonylurea or insulin.1 Your doctor may reduce your dose of these medicines before you start taking Nevolat®.1

  • Injection site reactions (e.g. bruising, pain, irritation, itching and rash)1

Injection site reactions can happen when using Nevolat®, and they may include symptoms like bruising, pain, irritation, itching and rashes at the site of the injection. If you experience severe reactions or if symptoms persist, speak with your doctor for guidance and management of these reactions.

  • Nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting1

If you’re taking Nevolat®, you might experience nausea and/or vomiting. While this feeling can be uncomfortable, it usually goes away over time. If nausea persists, speak with your doctor for advice on managing your symptoms.

  • Diarrhoea1

If you’re taking Nevolat®, you may experience diarrhoea. It’s important to stay hydrated and monitor your condition. Diarrhoea will usually go away over time but if it persists or becomes severe, consult your doctor for guidance.

Uncommon side effects

General stomach problems, such as indigestion, an inflamed or painful stomach, bloating or wind. You may also experience a delay in stomach emptying, known as gastroparesis, when taking liraglutide. If you notice symptoms of abdominal pain, bloating, and a feeling of fullness after eating only a small amount of food, make sure to discuss this with your doctor.1
