What is Nevolat®?

Nevolat® is the brand name of your medicine, the active ingredient of which is liraglutide.1

Nevolat® is a GLP1-RA (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist) that helps people lose weight, when they also exercise regularly and eat healthy foods.1 Losing weight can have many benefits for your overall health.2

How does Nevolat® work?

Nevolat®  is a weight loss medicine. It is similar to a natural hormone in our bodies called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is released from the gut after a meal and tells us we’re no longer hungry.1

The same thing happens when you take Nevolat® medicine. It acts in the brain to help control your appetite, making you feel fuller and less hungry.1

Changes to lifestyle, including diet and exercise, are a key part of the Nevolat® weight loss treatment plan. It is important to make these healthy changes while you are using Nevolat®.1

Who can take Nevolat®?

You should only continue to take Nevolat® if you have lost a certain amount of weight in the first 3 months of taking the medicine. You will have regular appointments with your doctor to check on progress.1

Adolescents (12 years+)

In adolescents (≥ 12 years old) who have obesity or excess body weight (more than 60 kg), Nevolat® can be given alongside regular exercise and eating healthy foods to help with weight loss.1
